Roasting is one of the most fascinating aspects of the coffee industry. It takes the green coffee seed, which has almost no flavor beyond a quite unpleasant vegetable taste, and transforms it into an incredibly aromatic, astonishingly complex coffee bean.

The smell of freshly roasted coffee is evocative, intoxicating and all-round delicious.

A huge amount of research has gone into the commercial roasting of relatively low-quality coffee, most of it to do with the efficiency of the process and the methods used in producing instant soluble coffee.

There are different ways to make it, and that affects the flavor. There are three main stages in roasting: drying stage, browning stage and development stage or roasting stage.

To simplify the matter , it can be said that the roast of a coffee is a product of the final color of the coffee bean ( light or dark) and the time it took to get that color ( fast or slow).

The roasting process can be controlled to determine three key aspects of how the coffee will taste: acidity, sweetness and bitterness. It is generally agreed that the longer a coffee is roasted, the less acidity it will have in the end . Conversely, bitterness will slowly increase the longer a coffee is roasted , and will definitely increase the darker a coffee is roasted.

Being pioneers calls for responsibility !

We were the pioneers to bring an authentic coffee culture to the city. We were the 1st Roasters in Punjab so being a pioneer we weren’t afraid but were responsible enough and cautious as we had to tell the region what is a specialized coffee. How does authentic coffee tastes . we had to create a tide , a culture , a vibe which never existed — so it was more of a responsibility not about being scared as we trusted our research and product .

The Name DOUBLE SHOT !!

After BURGRILL it was our second shot. Then another big reason was that we were targeting to take out the characteristics of coffee made in milk which is not at all an easy thing to do. We were providing a double shot coffee so that coffee stays dominating even in a milk-based beverage. And If a coffee is not extracted well then it will lead to bitterness and more astringency, which we cannot afford at doubleshot. Masking out a delicious and strong shot based coffee is a challenge .

A Detailed cup of coffee

 More coffee in a cup calls for a lot of detailing in the cup, more precision, more responsibility to make it right .We actually know our coffee. We put time on our coffee, we know about our beans, about our roast. We have a beautiful relation with our coffee, we are selling a fresh roast. Rest our customers can tell you better .

Basically When you get already roasted coffee from outside we loose control over it , and when the roasting is done by us —-we know our bean better .

Story behind the Doubleshot coffee cup !!

we can just say 40 percent is visible and 60 is behind the scene.  Starts with roasting , every step is monitored , calculated and saved . Extraction levels, we make sure that input dose is measured , output is also measured with high weighing scales , we check TDS . Different coffees have different TDS— there is a deep study behind it .

DOUBLE SHOT journey.

It hasn’t been easy at all. It has called for our sweat, soul and our hard work. People who are seeing us from 1st day very well know that we have not been those owners who have stayed behind walls or sat in lavish offices doing nothing .

We all together have stood and worked at our place , faced all the teething problems and difficulties. Have not left the staff alone , we are there for them and on toes. One of us is always on the premises and is quite approachable.

Making a place in the hearts of people

Amritsar being a food capital, people have immense knowledge about food and they have very strong taste buds, so to fit into their pallets was not easy. The only way to their hearts was an extraordinary product ON WHICH WE WORK DAY AND NIGHT and are still doing it with utmost consistency.
